Slowly but surely, efforts are being made in our country to embrace international practices to better locate and position our educational landscape and architecture in this 21st Century VUCA world. From putting Transformative Pedagogy into the classrooms (an initiative of Department of School Education, MoE) to exposing ourselves to the PISA (-D), (an initiative by BCSEA- Examination Council) and now to providing platforms ‘The ways of the Toppers: what makes them different?’, (an initiative of Royal Education Council) Education is in serious synergy mode to facilitate Learning to realize Education’s Promise (a World Bank Group Flagship Report,2018).
The day long seminar on 15th June, 2018 (chaired by Hon’ble Education Secretary) echoed the discussion that was very much in tandem with the findings of McKinsey & Company’s study ‘How the World’s best-performing school systems come out on top’, that is…
1. The quality of education cannot exceed
the quality of its teachers.
2. The only way to improve outcomes
is to improve instruction.
3. Delivering for every child.
Thank you REC! It was rare occasion –
an occasion to celebrate our success, an occasion to reflect (on education and its tasks ahead).
